How does your filming setup differ from other reality/game show crews?

Our camera setup is the easiest it has ever been. The first season of the show was terrible to film because it was so hot in Vegas and we couldn't film anywhere else. A mini drone was brought with us. To not let the production get in the way of the content, we need to streamline production. We simplified to the Pros of the Apple device. We need cameras that are reliable, easy to use, charge, and transfer data from one device to another. We're an all-Apple production right now. If we break a device halfway through, we can get a replacement within an hour or two.

What does the second season have in store?

The game format is completely different in the second season of the show. It's a race to go around the globe. The first team to get back to Denver after crossing every line of longitude was the one that started in Denver. There is a record for circumgating the world on a commercial flight. The airlines will try to make it happen if the people who are doing it have some assistance.

We didn't wish to do that. We wanted to do the real version, having to deal with check-in lines and security lines, and what actually made us more excited to do it now was the added complexity that Covid introduces.

How did you stay safe while filming a state-hopping game show during a global Pandemic?

The format was developed during Covid so it is dictated by that. In a lot of the other productions we do, we have to do a lot of work to get there. It's difficult to lock dates months in advance when you don't know when the next wave is. All we do is design the game and not spend any money. We could decide two hours before that we're not doing this, because Covid rates are too high, or because this person on the cast tested positive. When rates are relatively low and in the post-vaccine era, we go into the usual safety precautions of vaccines, testing prior to departure and on arrival, and masking.

I would like to know more about how you offset the flights' carbon emissions. After releasing a video about carbon offsets, what was your main lesson?
