Attorney Gives Rep. Jim Jordan A Scathing Personal Lesson In Hearsay

The attorney clapped back at the account that suggested Tuesday's testimony before the House select committee investigating the U.S. Capitol riot was "all hearsay."

The Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee labeled the testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson as "hearsay" on their account.

All the evidence is from someone else. The GOP account posted a joke about Hutchinson's testimony about Donald Trump.

It’s literally all hearsay evidence. What a joke.

According to Hutchinson, Trump said he didn't care that his supporters at the "Stop the Steal" rally had weapons. Trump encouraged his supporters at the end of the rally to confront Congress.

She said that when the agent refused to take Trump to the Capitol, he lunged at the Secret Service agent in the limo.

The Popehat account disagreed with the GOP account.

Only a small portion of it is true. Need to understand the difference.

Naw, man, only some of it is hearsay. Need help understanding the difference? I'm here to help you. I'm hoping to help you.

The date is June 28, 2022, according to the Brandenburg Test Hat.

The account offered examples of what could and couldn't be said in public.

Jordan was accused of knowing of sexual abuse claims by students when he was an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State.

According to NBC News, former university wrestlers came forward with allegations that a team doctor sexually abused athletes and that Jordan talked about the abuse with them.

During an Ohio Statehouse hearing in 2020, a former wrestling team captain said that Jordan called him to ask if he would speak out against the abuse.

Jordan denied knowing about the allegations.

First-hand witness testimony about what Trump said is not hearsay according to the account.

Legal analysts weighed in on the "hearsay" question

If the Department of Justice offered the testimony to the court in the case against the former president, it wouldn't be used as evidence.

The House Judiciary Committee GOP account is the subject of most of Popehat's thread.
