The Department of Health and Human Services is about to give out 296,000 monkeypox vaccines.
56,000 Jynneos vaccines, which can protect individuals against monkeypox, will be sent out immediately by the Biden administration. In addition, the HHS will have 60,000 vaccines.

There have been over 300 cases of monkeypox in the US so far this year.
The World Health Organization says that people in countries that have recently been affected by monkeypox may experience atypical symptoms, such as anal pain and bleeding, which are not normally associated with the disease.
Men who have sex with men are more likely to get monkeypox, but it can be passed on to anyone who is close to them. Those who may have been exposed to monkeypox should not have sex or physical contact.
Central and West Africa were the only places in the world where the disease was found before the current outbreak. Human-to-human transmission may have gone undetected outside of Africa, the WHO said on Monday.
