Amazon is the latest store to put limits on the purchase of pills. The pharmacy chain said it was capping purchases of the pills. The company said demand has returned to normal levels.
Many Walmart products have online purchase limits that can change during times of demand. Emergency contraceptive pills can be purchased at Walgreens.
The Plan B brand of emergency contraceptive pills can be bought over the counter and without a prescription.
They usually work by stopping the release of an egg from the ovaries, preventing a sperm from fertilize an egg, or stopping a fertilized egg from attaching to the womb. They are designed to take up to three days.
Morning-after contraception pills are different from abortion pills in that they can be used in the first 10 weeks of a pregnant woman's life to end the baby's life.

Many people have urged others to stock up on Plan B in case there are restrictions on contraceptive pills. Others said potential shortages could affect those most in need, and urged people to donate to organizations that distribute the pills.
