The Forger family—Yor, Anya, and Loid—sit happily together at their dinner table.

Imagine James Bond was sent on a mission to pose as a family man but also to procure a wife and child by himself. Bond would need to get his adopted child into the world's most prestigious school in order to turn her into a genius. Imagine if this Bond movie was a genuinely hilarious comedy and also didn't star James Bond because he's a chauvinist pig. This is a picture of a family and a spy.

Spy x Family, which is based on the equally fan-favorite Manga by Tatsuya Endo, is already a hit. It is enjoyable for an impressively wide audience due to its mix of spy action, comedy, and emotionally gratifying family drama.

The full premise of Spy x Family is completely different than what I wrote about. A fictionalized version of 1950s Germany, the nation of Westalis sent a spy to stop a politician from embroiling the two countries in a war. A party held for the top-most students of the private Eden Academy is an exception to the politician's near total recluse. To get close to the target, you have to create a family, enroll the child in the school, and have her become one of the school's elite. He agreed to pose as a married couple with a woman named Yor after adopting a child named Loid forger. Loid doesn't know that Yor is a secret assassin and that Anya can read minds.

It may sound complicated, but Spy x Family is easy to watch, and it has a lot of story possibilities. The comedy of Loid and Yor trying to keep their real professions secret from the world and their family is rampant; the same goes for five-year-old Anya's attempts to navigate her hoity toity new school while quietly helping Loid's mission by befriending the She punched the politician's child in the face on the first day. It's the first day.

Everything that has to do with Anya is funny. Her youthful naivete leads to many misunderstandings, her ability to read minds causes problems since the two minds closest to her are a devious spy and a trained killer, and she is one of the all-time great physical comedians thanks to the show. It's no wonder that Anya is the subject of a lot of internet jokes.

The results have been outstanding, and fans of the comic have been delighted to insert Anya into other books.

As funny as Spy x Family is, it's even more touching and satisfying. Loid forms his family solely as a ruse for his mission, and Yor accepts the role to become less visible, as they forge a bond that turns the ruse real. Loid and Yor are very fond of Anya because of her real love for her parents. The affection that grows between the found family is very touching.

The spy portion of Spy x Family has been used to bolster the show's comedy, but I haven't mentioned it yet. There is a word that can be used. Sometimes Loid has to go on other missions, where he is frequently shot at, while Yor is so good at it that she has been dubbed theThorn Princess. There is no shortage of danger when the serious spy stuff starts.

The bouts of danger and violence add to the show's comedy and drama. When you know that Yor could die fighting off a dozen of the world's most elite killers, the scenes hit harder. Seeing Loid grow up without a parent makes him want to protect and care for his daughter even more. It all works perfectly together, even if it is the original Manga or the anime, that should appeal to just about anyone. Nothing is not to like.

Should you accept it, you have to watch Spy x Family. The first 12 episodes of the show are currently available on the streaming services, while the next 12 will be aired in October. Thanks to its success and the fact that there are many more to come. The show will get a second season. I would be shocked if it didn't.
