Ukraine has lost more troops during the Russian invasion than there are infantry in the British army, defense expert says

In the four months since Russia invaded, the Ukrainian military has suffered more casualties than the British Army.

In the year 2021, there were 18,000 infantry in the British Army.

According to reporters and attendees at the conference, Jack Watling, a senior research fellow at the RUSI, came to a startling conclusion during his speech.

Difficult to assess the scale of Russian and Ukrainian casualties. NATO estimates as many as 40,000 Russian casualties in the first month of war, but Russian officials have only confirmed 1,300 deaths.

Despite not releasing reliable figures for its casualties, officials have made clear that the war in the east of the country is getting worse for the Ukrainians.

According to David Arakhamia, one of Ukraine's top officials, up to 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers are killed or wounded each day.
