Mayfield doesn't expect a reconciliation with the Browns (0:28)

Baker doesn't think there will be a reconciliation between himself and the Cleveland team. There is a 0:28

12:30 PM ET

In the event that the NFL suspends his replacement, Deshaun Watson, for the entire 2022 season, quarterback Baker Mayfield didn't completely rule out the possibility of a reconciliation with his former team.

He said that the Browns would have to be the ones to start that process, and that he was looking forward to joining his new team.

"For that to happen, there would have to be some reaching out," he said. We are ready to move on on both sides.

The hearing was scheduled to start Tuesday. The National Football League is expected to push for a suspension of at least a year.

Several women have accused him of inappropriate sexual conduct. There are still four active suits against him, despite the fact that he's settled 20 lawsuits against him. The cases of five women, four of whom are among those who sued, will be presented as evidence by the league during the hearing.

If there is a suspension, the Browns have signed a new starting quarterback.

Cleveland has not been able to trade away Mayfield. The former No. 1 overall pick is going to make almost $19 million in guaranteed money in the next two years. According to multiple sources, the ClevelandBrowns have discussed a trade with the CarolinaPanthers, but have not made a deal.

The Cleveland Indians missed out on the playoffs despite quarterbacking the team to their first playoff victory in 18 years. Since Cleveland traded for him in March, he hasn't been with the team. The mandatory mini camp was excused by the Browns.

Even though he was frustrated that a trade didn't happen before mini camp, he had no bad feelings towards the fans.

He said he was thankful for his time in Cleveland. There were a lot of ups and downs. Cleveland is a good sports town. There is no resentment to the city of Cleveland by me.
