Baykar turned down 20 million dollars in crowdfunded cash to buy its drones for Ukraine and will donate three military drones to the country.

Baykar wrote in a Monday statement that it had learned about a campaign to raise funds to buy its Bayraktar TB2 drones, and that it would send three drones free of charge to the Ukrainian war front.

Unmanned aerial vehicles are also called drones.

Baykar asked that the money be sent to the people of Ukraine.

Ukrinform reported that the money was raised through a campaign led by Serhiy Prytula.

Prytula said it took just three days to reach the target. There was a plan to get four of the drones.

Baykar makes four types of drones and it's not clear which one it will send to Ukraine.

Baykar said it was touched byUkrainians' solidarity and resolve in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges.

One of Baykar's co-directors, Selcuk Bayraktar, is related to Turkey's president through marriage.

Turkish officials said that the sale of the drones to Ukraine was not a state-to-state deal.
