It hasn't released a competitive flagship device in years but it isn't throwing in the towel just yet The company has a big attempt at exploiting on the so-called metaverse with the announcement of theHTC Desire 22 Pro. It will be shipped in the UK on August 1st.

The phone has a couple of different features. It is designed to be a companion to the Vive Flow virtual reality headset and access to the metaverse. It is not clear what the Desire 22 Pro has that isn't available elsewhere.

The phone comes with a free NFT and a digital wallet, which is advertised on the Taiwanese website. Similar language is not found in the marketing materials on its UK site.

The Desire 22 Pro's specifications are not very high. It has a 6.6-inch display with a high 120Hz refresh rate and a hole-punch notch in the top left of the device. There are three rear cameras and three main cameras around back.

It has a 4,520mAh battery and is powered by a 695 processor. It supports wireless and reverse wireless charging, runs an operating system, and has an immunity rating. Black or gold are the colors of the Desire 22 Pro.

The two phones seem to have reversed the fortunes of the company. The company's share of the market fell to less than half a percent in the year after it sold most of its talent to the internet giant. The company doesn't register on the public market share tracker.
