The name of the airport was named after a politician who died on the tarmac. The airport used to be called Manila International Airport. A representative from the airport told Insider that the airport served over 48 million people last year.

For a long time, the airport was among the worst in the world. Guide to Sleeping in Airports named it the world's worst airport from 2011 to 2013.

According to a report by theMIAA, the airport had a 40% on-time performance.

The image of the organization has been cleaned up. It has undergone a number of renovations and improvements, and in September of last year, it recorded an 83% OTP from national carriers.

The MIAA said in a statement that the main gateway of the country has come a long way from where it was before. The authority wants to give passengers a safe, convenient, and comfortable travel.

The UK-based airline- and airport-customer review site Skytrax currently has a 3/10 rating on NAIA. The airport is described as congested with long immigration and security lines.

A passenger from South Korea wrote on Skytrax that the transit waiting area looked like it had not been cleaned in days. She said that the airport in Asia was the worst she had ever been to.

As an adult, I booked a business class flight from Manila to Singapore via Philippine Airlines.

I bought a return ticket for around $1,200. A return economy ticket costs around $450. There is a flight from Manila to Singapore.

It took about 40 minutes to get to the airport from the city. The security checks were easy.

Terminal 2 is only used for domestic and international flights.
