There's just something about a tweed jacket that can make even the simplest outfit look pulled-together and chic. I love to "dress down" a tweed jacket with a pair of jeans, but the right jacket can also work over a dress or a blouse and trousers or skirt.

Above: a relaxed version with faux leather trim.

(I'm using the term "tweed" rather broadly, to include plaid, bouclé, and other iterations beyond the classic herringbone fabric.)

A well-fitting tweed jacket that suits your style and color palette can be a worthwhile investment, one of those pieces that you can wear year after year. Consider not only the cut and color, but also the details and texture to help you find the perfect one. (I wore this one in black for a few years, am hoping they offer more colors again in the Spring...)

Women's Tweed Jackets & Coats

I love the fun colors in this one. Misses / Petites / Plus.

A more neutral color scheme, but still plenty of presence.

If you prefer something a little more nipped in at the waist, this is a nice option.

Prefer a solid color? This one's offered in both navy and this nice berry color.

Hard to go wrong with a simple black and ivory style. This one's offered in Misses, Petites, Plus and Plus Petite sizes.

If longer jackets suit you better, here's one with a fringe trim and shawl collar. Offered in Regular, Petite and Tall sizes.

And a blazer style in a navy striped fabric. Offered in Regular sizes up to XXL (20-22) and Petites up to 3P (16-18P).

If I were still wearing more black, I'd be all over this one. SO cute!!

And the last thing I need is another coat, but the "Guava" color on this tweed topcoat is perfect for my Spring palette and I'm tempted...available in Regular sizes up to 24, also Petite and Tall.
