The employee of a grocery store was accused of attacking Rudy Giuliani.

Second-degree assault is a felony charge. On Monday, the charge was reduced to a third degree assault, along with two other charges.

Gill was released after a video showed him hitting Giuliani on the back in a Staten Island store.

Giuliani claimed that he had been hit so hard by Gill that it felt like a gun shot.

I feel someone shoot me on my back. Giuliani said on the radio show that he did not fall down.

The video released by the New York Post did not show Giuliani falling or moving forward after Gill's hand came into contact with his back.

During a Facebook live stream on Monday, Giuliani claimed that the video footage was deceptive.

The New York district attorney was criticized by Giuliani for allowing Gill to leave jail.

I didn't go down. I might have. Who knows if I fell down?

He said that the little punk wouldn't hurt him. The Mafia made threats to kill me twice.

The Legal Aid Society said that Gill had not hit Giuliani.

The charges against Daniel Gill are inconsistent with existing law, according to the Society. The video footage clearly showed that our client merely patted Mr. Giuliani, who did not sustain any physical injuries.

Gill was threatened by a Giuliani associate who poked him in the chest and said he was going to be locked up.

The Society wrote that they were happy to correct the record because of Mr. Giuliani's obsession with seeing his name in the press and his propensity to distort the truth.

Gill has been suspended from his job at the shop where the incident took place.
