Los Angeles Angels interim manager Phil Nevin was suspended 10 games by Major League Baseball for his role in a benches-clearing brawl during a game against the SeattleMariners on Sunday.

According to an MLB release, two players and a coach were suspended between the teams.

Angels pitchers Ryan Tepera and Andrew Wantz were both suspended for three games, as well as a number of other players.

Anthony Rendon will be suspended for five games when he comes back from the injured list. He can't sit on the bench for seven games.

While warnings were in place for both teams, Wantz was suspended for throwing at Winker. The decision to pitch Wantz was made by Nevin at the last moment.

The Angels opened a series against the White Socks. Montgomery, who received a two-game suspension, will be in charge of the team. After Dom Chiti returns from his five-game ban, Montgomery and Haselman will begin serving their suspensions.

Within 90 minutes, the punishments were announced.

Wantz threw a pitch behind Rodriguez's head while he was at the plate, as well as the first pitch of the second. Wantz is the only one who isn't appealing.

The pitch to Rodriguez seemed to be the Angels' response to the 95 mph pitch that hit Mike Trout. Trout was upset about the pitch.

After being hit by Wantz, Winker yelled and gestured towards the Angels' bench. The benches and bullpens emptied on the third baseman's side. Both teams appeared to throw punches during the brawl.

There was a delay of 18 minutes. Scott Servais was the only one who wasn't suspended.

He denied that he used Wantz to throw at the players.

That isn't true. I don't want to start a war of words with that. What has been done is finished. The day is done and dusted. We're not focused on anything else.
