Russian missiles struck a Ukrainian shopping mall with more than 1,000 people inside, Zelenskyy says

More than a thousand people fled for their lives after a Russian missile attack on a shopping mall.

Zelenskyy said that the occupiers launched a missile strike. More than a thousand people were present. The mall is on fire and there are many victims.

There was no casualty estimate beyond that, as fire crews raced to extinguish a blaze that appeared to consume much of the mall structure.

Shoppers tried to escape the smoke inside the mall as first responders arrived.

The city of Kremenchuk was removed from the frontlines of combat in the south and east of the country.

There were at least two casualties and 20 people wounded as the fire continued to rage.
