As the Group of Seven nations met in Germany to discuss strategies to confront Russia on its attacks on Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin's troops launched a missile.

At least one person died when a missile hit a block of apartments.

Carl Bildt, co-chair of the European Council on Foreign Relations, said that the attack appeared to be deliberate and that it happened on the same day the G7 met.

In the video, rescue workers are trying to get hold of loose pets in a dilapidated building. The streets are covered with debris and there are panicked noises in the background, such as the sound of a child yelling.

The president was in attendance at the meeting. He encouraged them to keep up the pressure. Russian gold imports were discussed by the G7 leaders, which would be the latest in a series of sanctions against Russia.

Biden said at the summit that they have to make sure everyone stays together. We're going to continue working on economic challenges that we face but I think we get through this.

According to CNN, between four to six missiles were fired at the residential block.

In a Telegram post, the mayor of Kyiv said that search and rescue teams were dispatched to assess the impact.

People are trapped under the rubble. Two people have been hospitalized. Rescuers are working.

Millions of Ukrainians have fled their homeland due to the Russian invasion. More than five million Ukrainians have fled since the beginning of the invasion, according to the United Nations Refugee Agency. More than one million Ukrainians left in the first week.
