Robinson will listen as the league expects to push for a lengthy suspension for the Cleveland quarterback who at one point faced 24 civil lawsuits that accused him of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct during massage sessions. 20 of the suits have been settled by him.
According to one source, the league was not able to speak with a lot of the women who interacted with him.
One source said that a decision from Robinson could come within a week, but that she might take up to a month to make. Before training camp starts in late July, the league hopes for clarity on this case.
Once Robinson rules, both sides have the option to appeal and the commissioner can either rule on the appeal or call on an independent ruler to make a decision.
Robinson, who was a member of Delaware's district court for more than 25 years, is one of the most influential people of the upcoming football season. She mainly works on patent disputes, but she has also worked on trademark issues and antitrust disputes.
She was the first woman Chief Judge for the District of Delaware and was also selected to serve on the Judicial Conference of the United States.
