The New York Yankees were no-hit for the first time in 19 years by the Houston Astros in a game on Saturday.

The 25-year-old right-handed pitcher set career highs with 13 strikeouts and 115 pitches, but he was pulled in the seventh after giving up three runs.

"I feel really happy, really proud, for this moment that God has given me.''

Ryan Pressly said it was the best feeling in the world to do it in New York.

The Yankees didn't come close to a hit against the team with the best record in the American League. The Yankees lost back-to-back games for the first time in more than a month, getting only three runners on three walks and an error.

There was a lot of drama in the eighth baseman's relief appearance. A fly ball to the warning track by Joey Gallo and a hard grounder by Judge were the only two hits that Neris gave up in the first.

"I said, 'I have to get it for my team, I have to get it for Javy,'" said the pitcher, who had never pitched in a no-hitter before.

Pressly retired three straight batters in the ninth for his 15th save of the season, after giving up a tying three-run home run to the opposing pitcher. The Astros walked onto the field and gathered near the mound after the game ended.

The Yankees haven't had a no-hitter thrown against them in over 50 years. The Astros had six pitchers combine to do it at Yankee Stadium.

J.J. Matijevic hit a solo home run in the seventh and Jose Altuve hit a solo home run in the 8th. In the ninth, Yuli Gurriel added a pinch hit.

New York has never been no-hit before and has only six times at home. Two have been done by the Astros.

In 2003 Houston was the last team to do it. Roy Oswalt strained his right groin after his second pitch in the second frame, and the rest of the team followed in an 8-0 win.

The Astros have 14 no-hitters, the most in the majors since they entered the majors.

A total of 71 pitches were thrown by the man. His previous high was against Seattle, where he threw 105 pitches.

He walked Josh Donaldson on a full-count pitch with two outs in the first, then retired 17 in a row until Donaldson hit a grounder in the seventh. GleyberTorres struck out swinging after a called third strike.

Jake is hurt and that's why Javier was starting. He began 12 of his first 18 hitters with a strike, but then began his last five with a ball. 157 pitchers faced 150 or more plate appearances this season, and his first strike percentage was 155th.

The Houston Astros took Matijevic in the second round of the amateur draft. He is 2 for 14 with two home runs, one of which he hit against the White Socks.

Cole didn't allow a hit until Jake Meyer grounded a pitch into right field in the fifth. Cole held the bay hitless until the 8th when Paredes hit the ball. On June 3, the right-handed pitcher took a perfect game into the seventh against Detroit before Jonathan Schoop broke it up.

There have been three no-hitters this season, with five New York Mets pitchers combining against Philadelphia on April 29 and the Los Angeles Angels throwing a no-hitter against the Rays on May 10

The Astros' last no-hitter was thrown by Verlander.
