In the event of a school shooting, children should be taught how to use guns to protect themselves, according to a lawmaker.
Speaking at a House Rules Committee meeting about the Second Amendment, he said firearm training would help ward off potential danger.
"If my children are in school and a man with a gun comes to kill people, unfortunately a psychologist is not going to be able to just talk him out of it," she said. It is not a good way to protect children.
She said that children should be trained with firearms.

She said the US is failing its youngest generations from decades of rejecting good moral values.
"We do not need more gun control," she said. We need to go back to God.
The Robb Elementary School in Uvalde was the scene of a shooting that left more than a dozen people dead.
There have been 27 school shootings in the first half of the 21st century. There were 34 in the year 2020.
