Gab and Juls talk about how Thomas Tuchel would use him if he joined the Blues. There is a time and a place for it.

Vicente del Bosque told El Pais that a healthy dressing room is worth more than 100 hours of tactics.

Del Bosque won the World Cup and the European Championship during his career. As he prepares to defend his title next season, he will have Del Bosque's words on his mind.

By the start of the 2022-23 season, it is possible that both Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling will be playing for other teams. According to sources, Mikel Arteta, the former City assistant, is working on a deal to sign Jesus, while Todd Boehly, the new owner of the Blues, is trying to lure sterling.

It's not ideal to bolster a team so close to home, but the harmony in the dressing room is more important than anything else. Jesus and Sterling have a year left on their contracts and want to play more often. Negotiating an acceptable transfer fee may be an issue, but if they want to leave and the club gets at least £50 million to £60 million, they will be allowed to.

Keeping unhappy players in the squad is too big of a risk for the City manager. It is a myth that he has a deeper squad than everyone else because he has large budgets and good players.

In Europe's top five leagues, only West ham used fewer players than City, according to a study conducted by the CIES Football Observatory.

When it comes to the make-up of the City squad, the director of football will usually be told that he doesn't want two world-class players for every position. He wants a small group of players who can play multiple positions.

If problems arise during the season, his solution is to ask his squad to adapt rather than look for a solution in the transfer market.

In the last season, City won the title even though they didn't have a recognised goal scorer. In the summer of 2015, City missed out on signing Harry Kane after Spurs demanded a £150m fee for the England international. The 21-year-old forward was given the go-ahead to move to Barcelona in January despite having already been dealt a blow by a lack of strikers. It caused a lot of surprise inside and outside the club.

He told people that if they wanted to leave because they weren't happy here, they had to go. One day the career is done. No disappointment if he leaves. I'm happy for him because he wants it.

This summer, the same rule will apply to Jesus and sterling. Allowing players to decide their own futures is a policy that comes with risk and, after defeat in the FA Cup semifinals toLiverpool in April, questions were raised about his reliance on a relatively small squad. After a busy week in which his team played two European games and then lost at Wembley, he didn't want to sign more players.

He doesn't like working with a lot of squad. I've lived this situation many years in my life, fortunately, as I've been in top clubs such as Barcelona, and now City, and we arrive in the latter stages of the competition many times. If you want to win, you need to be fit. It's difficult to handle all of the competition if you don't have 16 or 17 who are fit. This is a fact because I lived it.

After the arrival of Erling Haaland, the expectations on City will be greater than ever. It's not clear what the final squad list will look like, with sources telling ESPN that they have agreed a £42m deal to sign KalvinPhillips, as well. The players will not be brought in for the sake of it.

It was the relationship between players that made a successful team, according to Del Bosque.

When asked how he managed a star-laden squad at Real Madrid and Spain he said a healthy dressing room was important. When employees are happy, it's good for the business. If the children are happy, we win.

The aim of the man is to keep City smiling and win.
