The New York Times reported in 1993 that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas told his law clerks that he wanted to make the lives of liberals miserable.

Thomas resented the media coverage of his appointment to the Supreme Court. There were accusations and testimony about sexual harassment of one of his subordinates by the justice, which was central to the hearings.

He was confirmed by a narrow margin.

Two years after his confirmation, Thomas told his law clerks that he wanted to serve on the court until 2034.

The New York Times reported that Thomas said the liberals made his life miserable for 43 years. I'm going to ruin their lives for the rest of their lives.

The most conservative justice on the court joined the majority opinion to overturn federal abortion protections. In a concurring opinion, Thomas said the Supreme Court should revisit decisions from the cases of Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell, which established the federal right to use contraceptives.
