Several witnesses said the attack was motivated by anger over the protest, which was one of many that flared up across the nation after the Supreme Court struck down abortion rights.
Molly Monk told HuffPost that the man went out of his way to hit the protesters who were pro-choice, even though he didn't give any audible indication that he was against abortion.
Monk thinks that the pro-life movement is a lie if it is against people who are protesting for abortion rights. It makes me sad and angry that people think pro-life means this.
The anti-abortion movement has a history of violence despite recent calls from Republican lawmakers to protect their fellow abortion opponents.
At least 11 murders, 26 attempted murders, 955 known threats of harm or death, 614 stalking incidents and four kidnappings have been committed by anti- abortion activists in the last 43 years. The pro-life movement has bombed 42 abortion clinics and made 667 bomb threats.
