The FBI found Brian Laundrie's notebook in a Florida swamp and it appears to show a confession that he was the one who killed Petito.
According to Fox News, the notebook said that he ended her life. I thought it was good for her, but I saw all the mistakes I made. I was in a state of panic. I was completely shocked.
He wrote that he killed her because she hurt herself in Wyoming.
According to the images, Laundrie wrote that he couldn't go on without her.
In fall 2021, Laundrie and Petito embarked on a road trip that would end in their deaths. The public was made aware of Petito's disappearance on September 11.
Laundrie went missing from his parents' house in Florida on September 13th. He was a person of interest in the case.
The campsite where Petito's body was found was in the Bridger- Teton National Forest. Petito's cause of death was not known until nearly a month after she died.
The remains were confirmed to be Laundrie's on October 21. He had a backpack full of his things.
Laundrie's death was ruled a suicide.
The note in Laundrie's notebook continued, "I loved you more than anything."
He wrote that he couldn't bear to look at the photos to remember the good times. When I close my eyes, I will think of laying on the roof of the van, falling asleep to the sight of a meteorite. I will never tire of loving you.
He apologized to the Petito's family, whom he loved, Fox News reported.

Laundrie said in the note that he heard a scream near where they were camping in Utah, where temperatures were below freezing.
He said she was cold when he found her in the water and had a small bumps on her forehead. He tried to carry her to safety, but Petito wouldn't let him because they didn't know where their car was.
He said that Petito would get angry when Laundrie shook her awake because he was afraid she had a concussion.
He didn't know the extent of her injuries and she was in pain.
Laundrie hurried home to be with his family.
He said that he contemplated driving north to where Petito's family lived and letting her step dad or brother kill him.
I'm ending my life because I can't live without her. Laundrie wrote at the end of his note that he had lost his whole future with him.
I am sorry for their loss. My family lost two children, please don't make life harder for them. She is the most wonderful girl. He apologized to Gabby.
