Dear Patrick Mahomes, Kansas and Missouri Whataburger fans can use your help again

We need your assistance. We wouldn't turn that down, but we did not play football on the gridiron.

I recently had my first visit to a Whataburger restaurant.

I wouldn't rate it a touchdown because it was a fumbled ball waiting for someone to pick it up.

I am aware that the Whataburger you opened in Kansas City, Kan. is not the one I went to in Overland Park.

It's not one of the 30 or so Whataburgers your franchise group is planning to build.

The Whataburger store in Overland Park listens to you.

They put their product on store shelves when you said you missed it. When you said you wanted them to open a restaurant in Kansas City, they drew up plans.

You're the face of the franchise since then.

You have never heard of me. I am from southern California and I am a big fan of In-N- Out Burger and I would love to see them discover the state of Kansas.

Whataburger has always been a reliable second read for me. It is a nice vacation treat when I go to Oklahoma or Texas.

I rarely order a Whataburger. Chicken strips, white gravy and Texas toast are some of the best fast food items.

I was excited to see Whataburger near my son's apartment.

When we were there, our expectations were high. We decided to eat at the drive-through because there was a long line at the store.

That was not a good idea. We wiped the table off ourselves because none of the tables had been cleaned in a long time. I kicked the napkins off to one side because I didn't want to deal with the large amount under the table.

People were watching us do it. A group of people were sitting in a booth, eating and chatting with each other.

I don't know what was happening in the kitchen, but we got served eventually.

An employee at the restaurant put a sign on the door that said the dining room would be closing at 10:30pm.

We had a good time laughing at that one. Two employees seemed to be doing nothing.

It is up to you to save the game.

Call whataburger. They have your number. Before Whataburger gets a reputation as the Detroit Lions of the local fast-food industry, it might be a good idea to give them a pep talk.

Do it for the fans, do it for Whataburger, and we will all be happy.
