Natalie Portman told Variety that she was asked to get as big as she could.

Portman is reprising her role as Jane Foster, who seems to have been given an upgrade. Jane has taken on the mantle of THOR herself instead of a damsel in distress.

Portman said in an interview with Variety that she had never been asked to get large and muscular for a role.

Portman was asked to get as small as possible. I was told to get as large as possible. That's an amazing challenge for a woman.

She said, "To have this reaction and be seen as big, you realize that this must be so different, to walk through the world like this." I feel like a pat-on-the-head kind of person when I'm small. I present myself that way as well.

This is the first movie that Portman has starred in. She was left out of the third "Thor" sequel and unused footage from "The Dark World" was used for Jane's appearance in the time-travel robbery.

Portman told the Wall Street Journal in 2016 that she was done with the superhero films. Portman told Variety that she was coming back as a superhero in order to return to the MCU.

She said that it was the phase of her career where she was trying to impress her children. My kids were so fascinated by this process that they were able to see me dressed up in a cape. It made me feel really good. My kids don't like to go to work. It's usually the other way around.

On July 8th, there will be a premiere of "Love and Thunder".
