During Tuesday's committee hearing, Stephen Colbert noticed a text that seemed to start a conversation about a coup attempt.

The evidence presented by the House committee showed that Sen. Ron Johnson wanted to hand deliver fake electors to Vice President Mike Pence during the certification of the 2020 election results.

Sean Riley replied that he needed to give something to VP OTUS after Chris Hodgson wrote "Sup?" to him. Riley said it was an alternate slate of electors for Wisconsin and Michigan.

When I saw it this afternoon, it was clear to me that the text chain began with 'Sup?'. Colbert spoke. Is it a problem? It's a pretty chill way to get rid of democracy. 'Sup?' The seat altern8 electors should betes for the lolz.

A mob went on to besiege Congress in an effort to stop the certification of the results, with some of its members chanting for Vice President Mike Pence to be hanged, because his office refused to comply with the demands of former President Donald Trump and his allies to help them overturn the election
