Frank Luntz said this week that he thinks the public hearings on the Capitol riot will hurt Donald Trump's popularity.

Luntz said that the hearings are hurting Trump, but that the panel focused too much on politicians.

Donald Trump is paying a price for what is being shown. Even among Republicans, it's having an impact.

The public hearings didn't provide enough visual material of the riot.

The visuals proved to the American people that something really awful happened on January 6.

Luntz told CNN that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is ahead of Trump in the state.

Donald Trump is behind Ron DeSantis in a survey. The numbers are falling. Luntz said that these changing impressions could affect whether Trump runs for president again in 2024.

Luntz said that the Florida governor was more than a threat to Trump. Luntz said that the Republicans had an opportunity to say that it was time to move on from Trump.

Donald Trump is the most popular political figure within the Republican Party. "And Trump can yell and scream and send out his emails, I'm on his list, and they all are meant to blow things up, but they are having less and less of an impact with every single month."

Luntz has been critical of Trump. Luntz said in May last year that Trump's claims of voter fraud could cost the GOP the House. Luntz said in April that Republicans were laughing at Trump because they thought he was a child.

Trump demanded equal airtime on national TV and released a statement bashing the investigation while continuing to tout his baseless claims of voter fraud.
