Some of Toyota's first mass-produced all-electric vehicles are being recalled because their wheels might fall off.

After low-mileage use, bolts on the bZ4X's wheels can loosen, and the wheel can detach from the vehicle, according to a report.

Less than two months after its launch in Japan, the car is being recalled.

For the same reason, it will recall 2,600 electric cars.

On Friday, Toyota said in a statement that it had issued a safety recall for the bZ4X SUVs.

The risk of a crash increases if a wheel detaches from the vehicle.

They said that no one should drive them until the remedy is done.

Some bZ4X models have not been recalled, according to thebbc. A Toyota spokesman wouldn't say how many vehicles the company had made.

The cause of the issue is still being investigated by Toyota, the company said.

The Solterra, the first all-electric car developed with Toyota, is being recalled because of loose bolts. The firm did not reply to the request.

Toyota is seen as a latecomer to the electric vehicle market, as compared to rival manufacturers likeTesla, which launched its first electric car 14 years ago.

In Japan, it launched the bZ4X. In order to eliminate customer concerns about residual battery performance, maintenance and residual value, the car was only available on lease.

Due to a shortage of computer chips and supply disruptions caused by the Pandemic, the company said it would cut the number of vehicles it produces next month by half a million.

Toyota may have to reduce the number of vehicles it makes this year because it wants to make a total of 9.7m.
