We introduced a few new features for your phone and laptop at I/O this year. Soon you will be able to try some of those features on your own.
If you want to stay on task, you need to switch between your phone and laptop. Phone Hub, a built-in control center that lets you respond to text messages, check your phone's battery, and more, was introduced last year.
You will now have instant access to the latest photos you took on your phone, even if you are not online. When you take a picture on your phone, it will show up on your laptop. Once you download the image, you can add it to a document or email.
You don't need to send yourself emails with pictures or go through multiple steps to get a picture from your phone. If you want to add your best photos to the email you send to your friends, you don't need to pick up your phone.
You can see pictures that were taken on your phone in the phone hub.
You can use Nearby Share to share files between other phones. You can securely connect a Chromebook to any saved wi-fi network with the help of anandroid phone and Nearby share. There is no need for you to type in the wi-fi password or keep a sticky note with the internet info when you are with your friend.
You can try it out by going to the internet settings page on your phone. Pick the Chromebook you want to get online by using theNearby tile. The network name and password will be delivered by Nearby Share and the Chromebooks will connect to the internet. It will save for the next time the Chromebooks needs to use the internet.
Improvements are being made to Nearby Share. Sharing is up to 10 times faster and it is easier to start with a streamlined process.
When you can't figure out how to set them up, it can be hard to stay connected. We have all been there, trying to figure out what the blue LEDs mean. Fast Pair coming later this summer will make it easy to sync headphones or other compatible accessories to your Chromebooks.
It will detect when a new pair of headphones are on and ready to be set up if you turn on your Chromebooks's bluetooth. Your new accessory is ready to go with a single tap after a pop-up notification. It's no longer necessary to dig through settings or figure out the right button to pair your headphones. Fast Pair saves the connection to your account so that both your phone and headphones will remember you in the future.
Fast Pair makes it easy to use new headphones, join a virtual meeting or listen to music. It will be compatible with hundreds of different headphones.
Fast Pair on Chromebooks will work with hundreds of headphones.
