Obi-Wan lost his connection to the Force and his hope of getting a visit from the Force when the show begins, but he was supposed to be talking to Qui-Gon. After saving Princess Leia and confronting Darth Vader, Obi-Wan's connection to the Force is re-established, allowing the transparent blue form ofQui-Gon to appear in the episode's final moments.
