The House select committee plans to show how President Donald Trump clashed with top Department of Justice leaders when he tried to overturn the election.

The committee said that the hearing will show how Trump planned to install a new acting attorney general, Jeffrey Clark, to help spread his false claim that the election was rigged.

The committee plans to show that senior officials in the Justice Department threatened to leave. Three ex-DOJ officials are expected to testify in person at the hearing.

The event is the fifth time the committee has presented evidence from its investigation. Congress was temporarily prevented from voting on Biden's victory because of the rioters.

According to the committee's findings, Trump was at the center of a multi-pronged conspiracy to subvert the results of the 2020 presidential election. The panel is still investigating.
