The governor of Florida won't be asking the former president for an endorsement.

Four people linked to Trump and the Florida governor, who are not related to each other, said that the governor doesn't have the intention of getting the president's support for his re- election this year.

An individual linked to Trump's endorsement process, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said that the president would back the congressman if he asked for it. The spokesman for the campaign didn't comment on whether the candidate is trying to get the support of the president.

There has been a fresh slate of comments from the former president regarding the Florida governor.

Trump claimed credit for the Florida governor's political success, even though he didn't know if he was going to run for president in four years.

I'm not sure if he wants to run. I don't know if Ron wants to run. I have yet to see that. You're telling me something I haven't seen, so we'll see what happens.

Both men are hot favorites for the GOP nomination.

The straw poll asked conservatives who they'd most like to see as their presidential nominee in four years. A straw poll in 2020 found that Trump received more approval than the other candidate, but only by a small margin.

In October of 2021, he said he wouldn't run for president because he was busy trying to make sure people didn't support critical race theory. Trump has been teasing the possibility of another run but has yet to make a formal declaration.
