It's a good idea to know where you stand with someone by knowing your phone number is blocked.

You can try to check if you're blocked by contacting the person who blocked you.

How to know if someone blocked you on iPhone

It's not a simple process to find out if you've been blocked on an Apple device. You can't tell if you've been blocked by the blocker alone.

If you want to know if you're blocked, you could try a number of different methods.

Send them an iMessage

If the person you suspect of blocking you has an Apple device, you can try to send them a message that will be forwarded over the internet. If you look at the message bubble, you can tell the difference between an email and a text message.

You can see the delivery status when you send someone an email. The status will readDelivered if you have not been blocked. Once someone opens the message, it will turn to "Read" if the person has enabled read receipts.

When you don't see the delivery status or the read receipt, that's a red flag. When you send a message, it will be in a blue bubble, but it won't have delivery status below it.

It's a good idea to know if it's a network problem by seeing if the Messages app tries to send it again.

Send them an SMS message

You weren't blocked when you sent them an email and they got theDelivered notification underneath it. It's a sign of a potential block if you get a message that isn't delivered.

You can relax if the auto-generated response tells you why the message didn't go through. If the person blocked you, you wouldn't get a response.

Give them a phone call

You could call the person. You may have been blocked if the call goes right to voicemail or a half ring.

Mask your number

It's time to hide your number after you've tried a few times to call them.

You have to dial *67 before you type in the number. It's almost certain that your number was blocked if it rings through with this masked number.

Check if they've also blocked you on other messaging apps

You will most likely be blocked in other places if the person is blocking you. These are the signs that you've been blocked on the messaging service.

They will see your message if they haven't blocked you there, but they may not respond. If you want to get to the bottom of why they blocked your calls and texts, you should be polite.

Potential false positive signs that you've being blocked

You may have been blocked if you tried to call someone and it went to voicemail. On the other hand, the person's phone might be turned off or have a drained battery, or they might be in Airplane Mode.

They could have sent you to voicemail because they were on another call, in class, or just didn't want to talk.

A broken relationship isn't the cause of a text message that isn't delivered. Try to call or text again after a few hours and see how it goes.
