The hearings on the attack on the Capitol will be held again in July.
The two final hearings the committee had planned for this month will not take place.
Additional work is required after we took in some additional information. Thompson said that rather than present hearings that have not been good, they decided to move into July.
The hearing will go on as scheduled.
Since we started, there has been a lot of new evidence. We need to go through the new evidence and incorporate it into the hearings we have planned.
A lot of new information was mentioned by Lofgren.
Lofgren told The Hill that there was a mountain of new information that needed to be analyzed.
The committee received more information from the National Archives recently, as well as information from other sources, which came after the committee flashed its web address in the hopes of attracting new witnesses.
The new evidence includes recently turned over video footage from a British documentarian of the attack as well as interviews with former President Trump, his adult children and former Vice President Mike Pence, which the committee has been unable to convince them to speak to.
Thompson said that additional information from a documentarian and additional NARA production would require a little more time than expected.
Thursday's hearing will be the last event of the month. The Department of Justice will be the subject of that session.
The committee originally planned to have two more hearings in June, but Thompson said that additional hearings could be announced.
There could be a need for further hearings based on the information they are getting. The majority leader told reporters in the Capitol that they would see. There are not going to be. There is a chance that the committee will have further hearings on the information that has been elicited.
