The New EnglandPatriots announced Wednesday that they will bring back their old red jersey and Pat Patriot logo in the years to come.
There will be a specific game when the Pats will wear the uniform combination.
The club came up with a "back to the future" theme.
The lesson will be based on the jersey.
Wait a minute, Doc. Are you telling me the red uniforms are back? pic.twitter.com/X1pd6kpdpG

The uniforms and helmets didn't change much during the first 312 decades of the franchise. A new "Flying Elvis" logo on silver helmets was added when Bill Parcells was hired as coach in 1993.
The Flying Elvis logo on silver helmets was the same as the navy and silver jerseys the team wore in the 2000's.
From 1994 to 2012 the Pats wore their old uniforms and white helmets as "backstabbers" and "alternates."
The last time the Pats wore red was in a victory over the Jets.
There has been a decade-long wait to see them again because of a rule change that mandated every club stay with one helmet because of player safety concerns. The old jerseys were not going to be mixed with the new silver helmets.
The affection for the old jerseys and helmets grew among some of the team's fans.
Which is why Wednesday's news was well-received.
