A group of family members killed in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, have written an open letter to PGA Tour members to thank them for remaining loyal to the tour.

In the letter, the survivors described themselves as the spouses, children, parents and siblings of those who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Many of you who chose to remain loyal to the PGA Tour and did not defect to the Saudi Arabia-bankrolled LIV Golf Series are thanked by the letter. Thanks for standing up for what's right. You stood up for the families. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia tried to cleanse its reputation by buying off athletes.

The hijackers on Sept. 11 were from Saudi Arabia.

According to published reports, more than 20 PGA Tour players have signed with LIV Golf and received signing bonuses between $100 million and $200 million.

17 players were suspended by the PGA Tour for competing in a golf tournament without a conflicting event release. Pumpkin Ridge in Portland, Oregon will be the site of the first LIV Golf event in the US.

"We know that not all of you are millionaires, and that you compete to win tournaments, fame, and glory," the letter said. We believe that spirit, drive, and talents are part of competitive sports.

Some of your fellowPGA Tour members have traded their dreams of earned success for easy money, even if they need those funds or not. Some of the richest in the field, who justify their roles in Saudi Arabia's efforts to sportswash, are included. When asked the hard questions or faced with the uncomfortable truth, they do so casually.

The players who defected to LIV Golf have been accused of being involved in Saudi Arabia's sportswashing efforts.

"I think I speak for most Americans when I say that we feel the deepest of sympathy for those that have lost loved ones, friends in 9/11," he said. I can't emphasize how much I care for those that have been directly affected by it.

The Saudi monarchy is alleged to have been involved in the killing of a US citizen.

The letter said that Saudi terrorism did not end with 9/11. The world saw that in the murder of the journalist by the Saudi crown prince. The Saudi government has imprisoned scores of dissidents and journalists, hosted a public execution of 81 people, slaughtered and bombed Yemen, and committed many other crimes against women and minorities.

Some of the players who signed with LIV Golf lost sponsors. They ended their deals with the golfer. Callaway stopped sponsoring him. The Royal Bank of Canada stopped doing business with two people.

"If you have chosen what is right over blood money from a corrupt, destructive sports entity and its Saudi backers, please continue to stand strong." Our long journey to accountability and justice is in reach, thanks to you. Your integrity and willingness to stand up for principle are important to us.

We will never forget." Thank you for reminding us that we should always remember. I would like to thank you for doing what's right.
