  • On Monday, Paul appeared on the "Truegeordie" show.

  • After Paul filmed a dead body, The Rock cut ties with him.

  • Before Paul became involved in the controversy, Johnson and Paul filmed a number of videos.

The wrestler and actor The Rock cut ties with the controversial influencer after he filmed a dead body in Japan.

The aftermath with Johnson was one of the most sad moments of the YouTuber's life.

Paul was a guest on the "True Geordie" show, hosted by Brian Davis. In the episode, Paul said that he was once friendly with Johnson and that the two filmed several videos and skits together.

Paul posted a video in December of last year showing a dead body in Japan's Aokigahara forest sparking controversy. The publicist told Paul after the video that Johnson didn't want anything to do with him.

"After Japan happened, I found myself in a hole, and I got a call from my publicist, who also repped The Rock, and she's like, 'Hey, The Rock has.' "

He still wished Johnson would have called or texted him instead of communicating through his publicist, even though he understood he had made a grotesque error.

He said he was sad that his hero didn't want to be with him.

Paul said Johnson reached out to him via private messages and thought one of his videos was funny. Paul didn't reply to Johnson's message, but he still thinks the actor is great.

Johnson's representatives did not reply to Insider's request.

"With great power comes great responsibility, for the first time in my life I'm regretful to say I handled that power incorrect," Paul said in January. It's not going to happen again.

Paul lost several deals with brands and advertisers in the wake of the controversy but has regained popularity on social media.

Paul made his wrestling debut in April at the annual pay-per-view event hosted by the World Wrestling Entertainment network. The father and son duo Rey and Dominik Mysterio were defeated by Paul in a tag team match.

In 1996 he began his career as a wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment and left in 2004 to pursue acting. He has starred in a number of films with other people. He has 6 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
