There is video footage that shows a Ukrainian drone attack on an oil refinery in western Russia.

The footage was shared on social media.

The refinery is located five miles from Russia's border with Ukraine. It's not clear who captured the footage, and it can't be verified.

The refinery said it had stopped operations to assess the damage.

"As a result of terrorist actions from the western border of the Rostov region, two drones struck at the technological facilities of Novoshakhtinsk," it said.

The staff has been evacuated and technological equipment has been stopped.

According to the refinery, the first drone hit the facility and caused a fire. According to the refinery, the second drone hit at 9:23 a.m. and was aimed at crude oil.

The governor of Russia's Rostov region said there was a fire in the plant's vacuum unit and that parts of two drones were nearby.

He said the fire was put out and nobody was hurt.
