The city of St. is located in the northeastern part of the United States A three-person panel will debate whether the New York Yankees should pay their All-Star outfielder $21 million this season.

Sources said the hearing would be held Friday.

Judge said Tuesday that he was looking forward to the game, but he did not confirm the day. Past players in my agency hated the process. It was good to hear about yourself from other people that went through it.

Dellin Betances was the last Yankees player to go to an arbiter. Betances was open with his teammates about how hostile the hearing room was when the club's case was decided.

Betances didn't like how the process was done. He gave a lot to this organization, the numbers he put up for quite a few years, even though he wasn't a closer, he did a lot of special things, but it didn't happen. It's probably difficult, but for me it's straightforward. I love this team, I love this organization and everything, but there's a business side of it that I don't like, I don't think a lot of people like it.

Judge has handled himself well through the process, which has not impacted his popularity or performance. The first results of All-Star balloting were announced Tuesday, and Judge led all players with over one million votes. Alex Rodriguez was the first Yankees player to lead the majors in voting for the All-Star Game.

Judge's 25 home runs this season are the most in the majors, and he became the third player in franchise history to hit at least 25 home runs in the first 62 games of a season.

"I don't expect anything to get in the way of what he wants to do, I know what his focus is and what he wants to accomplish, and I don't expect anything to get in the way of that," he stated. "This is obviously a great player, but a guy that's just really good from the neck up, too, as far as handling whatever comes his way through stardom, through being one of the faces of the game, to being a New York Yankees." He's fully equipped to handle contract situations and all that, he doesn't have to worry about what he does between the lines.

Judge expressed his frustration at not being able to sign a long-term contract extension with the Yankees, the club with which he wants to spend the rest of his career. The judge gave him a deadline of opening day to agree on an extension that would have prevented him from hitting free agency. The Yankees offered a seven-year, $213.5 million extension to him, but he and the team did not reach an agreement.

Judge refused to discuss the rare move of Cashman publicly revealing the terms of the Yankees' offer and described it as the business side of baseball. According to sources, Cashman's release of the figures didn't sit well with the Yankees' locker room.

Even though Judge said he wouldn't negotiate a contract extension in-season, the parties will still hold the hearing via video conference. Luis Severino agreed to a four-year, $40 million extension with the Yankees just before his hearing.

Judge said his focus has been on winning games rather than the upcoming hearing.

The best team in the league is us. He said that he had been thinking about that. It's easy to focus on playing baseball when you're in this place with these guys. There is no need for me to get caught up in contract stuff. I have agents who are interested in that.

There is an update on aROLDIS CHAP MAN.

Aroldis Chapman, who has been on the injured list since May 24, threw a live batting practice session for the Yankees on Tuesday. The injury seems to have hampered him this season, particularly in his past five appearances, in which he gave up six earned runs over 323 hours.

Since taking over as the Yankees' closer on April 9, Clay has not allowed a run in 29 consecutive relief appearances, the longest streak by a Yankees pitcher in franchise history.

Chapman was asked if he thought he had lost his role to Holmes.

I don't think that's the case. Chapman said that he's past the point in his career where he would fight for a role. I took advantage of the chance to close when I got to the majors. It's pretty much the same thing. I want to help the team in any way I can. He is doing a great job and deserves the role that he has.
