Stephen Curry turned what would have been a problem for other NBA stars into a joke.

Curry came off the bench for the first four games of the series. Curry missed the end of the regular season due to a foot injury that kept him out since March.

Kerr told Curry after the first two games that he could return to the starting lineup if he wanted.

If you want to, I'll let you start if you want.

He said, 'We're playing great, Jordan is in a great mood, let's keep going.' Let's continue with this.

Kerr told Curry that if he worked hard, he could start in the NBA playoffs.

Curry was the one who ran with the joke.

As he practices and works, he's like, 'Look at me, Coach!' I'm hard at work. I'm deserving of this. I'm sure I can do this.

Curry was off the bench until the fifth game. He scored 30 points in the Warriors' victory over the Nuggets.

Kerr said that he was perfectly content to come off the bench. It turned into a joke for him, where we were laughing at it.

Curry helped the Warriors get to the NBA finals. He helped Golden State win its fourth championship in eight years while taking home his first Finals Most Valuable Player award.

During the trophy ceremony, Kerr told Curry that the Warriors' success was due to him.

Kerr told him how much he meant to her. As great as everyone has been with the Warriors from ownership to front office to coaching staff, this has all been built on him.

It's like most dynasties. The Spurs were built on TimDuncan. The Celtics were built on Larry Bird and the Bulls on Michael Jordan. Taking nothing away from all the great players and coaches and GMs and ownership, but there is usually one star that is the reason for these dynasties or runs. I told him that he was the reason for all of this.

Kerr said after the Finals that he wanted the Warriors to win the title for Curry.

Kerr told Lowe that Curry is one of the most influential players in NBA history for the way he has helped popularize the three-pointer.

Kerr said that Curry's humility and how ittranslates to leadership is what makes him stand out.

"You feel that humility on a daily basis, just the way he carries himself and celebrates others' success," Kerr said. The other players feel his joy for them and their success.
