Paramount Plus plans 150 international originals by 2025

Paramount plans to commission 150 international originals for its Paramount Plus streaming service by the year 2025. Content from Germany, Italy, France, and Mexico were revealed on Tuesday.

The kind of traction other platforms have gotten from their own international originals is what Paramount is hoping to see. Although Squid Game is the most successful series at launch, its French counterpart, Lupin, has also been a hit. Pachinko is a drama about a Korean immigrant family that Apple renewed for a second season.

Paramount Plus will be available in the UK and Ireland on June 22nd. In September, the service will be available in Italy, and in December, it will be available in Austria, France, Germany, and Switzerland.
