In the first half of the show, music played a significant role, but the first volume never got around to giving Eddie the sick guitar that was featured in the first trailers. The king of the Hellfire Club is getting his ax just in time for an epic battle in the Upside Down in the first trailer for the second season.
The origin of Vecna was revealed in the first volume of the series, and it was established that Eleven and her friends are one of the only groups capable of taking the monster down. Everyone is feeling the pressure as they are pulled back to Hawkins with new knowledge about what they are up against and how dangerous Vecna is. Vecna's approach leaves her with no choice but to return to her hometown to confront him, since she doesn't know if Eleven's newly restored powers are enough for her to go toe-to-toe with the first of her kind.
The trailer doesn't make clear when and how Eleven will connect with her allies, but it does show some of them going into the Upside Down, presumably to beat Vecna into submission with the power of Kate Bush's music While the shots of Max's cassette player suggest that she will play a role in taking the demon down, the focus on Eddie coming across a guitar suggests that the epic battle it builds towards is going to be one hell.
