There are more British Airways lounges in the US for Priority Pass members. It's always a good idea to have more lounge capacity.

Priority Pass members can use four British Airways lounges

Priority Pass now includes four British Airways lounge locations in the US. Priority Pass members can now go to the lounges.

The lounges in San Francisco and Seattle have never belonged to Priority Pass, but they have in the past. Lounge access can be had for up to three hours in each case. If you can clear security in the terminal, you can fly any airline in the lounge.

The British Airways lounges in Boston, Chicago, and New York are not part of Priority Pass.

Priority Pass members have access to more British Airways lounges

This is a logical move for British Airways

Lounge operators are paid when members visit their lounges. Lounges run by airlines often have to balance the desire to maximize revenue with the need to provide a good experience for their own passengers.

The approach British Airways is taking is sensible.

  • British Airways is opening up its lounges earlier than it otherwise would, in order to generate incremental revenue from Priority Pass members
  • During these hours, I’d expect a significantly scaled back food & beverage selection compared to what British Airways would offer its own passengers
  • This is basically free money for the airline, as lightly staffing the lounge and offering basic food & drinks won’t cost much, while a lot of revenue can be generated; the only other downside is the long-term wear & tear to lounges from more people using them

Priority Pass memberships are offered by many premium credit cards. There isn't much capacity at some airports. If lounges expanded their hours to welcome Priority Pass members, it would be a huge win-WIN.

Expect scaled back food & beverage offerings

Bottom line

Priority Pass now includes four British Airways lounge locations in the US. Lounges in Newark, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington are now open to members. Priority Pass members can't access the lounges in the same way British Airways travelers can.

If you are going to travel out of these airports in the near future, be aware of this opportunity.
