Serena Williams will return to tennis on Tuesday when she plays in the doubles with her sister Venus.

Williams hasn't competed since she was injured at Wimbledon last year.

The American is playing with another person.

Williams was supposed to practice on Monday but it was called off at the last minute.

Williams was seen hitting with another American at a club.

They will play Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo and Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic on the centre court at about 17:30 BST.

Serena is a great player. I really admire her story, admire everything that she did for us, and I have pulled out of the singles because it would be too much before Wimbledon.

The fact that we're playing doubles together is huge news for me.

I didn't think she would pick me to play doubles after a long time.

I feel like I watched her win a lot of Grand Slams. I hope it won't make me nervous.

Williams was given a wild card to play in the singles at Wimbledon after she only entered the doubles at Eastbourne.

One major win short of Margaret Court's record 24 Grand Slam singles victories, Serena Williams is a seven-time singles champion at the All England Club.
