The third and final season of Star Trek: Picard is going to be huge. Fans were hit with a lot of stories in the finale. Several members of the Next Generation cast are returning for the final season, in roles that are more than a few minutes of screen time. That is surely it. There can't be more. Terry Matalas was in full-on tease mode on the Inglorious Treks. He has been teasing roles that have not been announced since the big reveal about the returning cast members. Matalas said there are people from Star Trek who aren't the Next Gen cast. There is a character in Next Gen who I really want to see return. It was more exciting when they agreed to return.
Which one could it be? If this was a few months ago, you would have said someone like Wil Wheaton'sWesley Crusher, but we all know he came back in the finale. Who can top that announcement? He was talking about someone from Trek that wasn't Next Gen. We want to hear what you think.
The interview was more than just a tease. Matalas talked about how he persuaded some actors to come back, as well as some familiar locations, for season 3. He doesn't think it's the end of a chapter of Star Trek but a beginning. The third season is the passing of the torch from generation to generation.
