Everything you need to know about Paramount+ in the UK

Paramount+ launched in the US over a year ago. The service will be available in the UK and Ireland on June 22, marking the first time it will be available outside the US.

Paramount+ will launch in South Korea in June, followed by Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Austria in late 2022, and India in 2023 in partnership with Paramount. In May, the global expansion of the service was announced.

Brooke Bajgrowicz pointed out during the US launch of Paramount+ that it wasn't a new streaming service. The service was called CBS All Access and had been running for three years.

What kind of original programming is there?

Paramount+ will launch in the UK with a lot of TV shows and movies, including existing and upcoming Paramount+ originals like neo-western Yellowstone, and the upcoming 1932 prequel starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. MTV, Comedy Central, and Paramount Pictures are among the properties on the platform.

Many of the shows on Paramount+ are difficult to watch in the UK, like the TV sequel to David Bowie's sci-fi film The Man Whofell to Earth starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Naomie Harris. The entire Star Trek franchise is on there as well.

An adaptation of A Gentleman in Moscow is one of the UK-produced originals already announced for the platform. The company wants to commission 150 international originals by the year 2025.

There is a free seven day trial for Paramount+ in the UK. Ireland prices are not known at this time.

In the U.S., you can choose between the Essential plan for $4.99 per month or the Premium plan for $9.99 per month, but only in the UK.

How can I access it?

In the UK, Paramount+ will be available via desktop browsers on the website and on mobile, as well as some smart TVs through the Paramount+ app. You can put a casting device on your TV from your phone or computer.

Sky Cinema subscribers in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, and Austria will get Paramount+ for free when it launches on Sky platforms in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, and Austria.

Is there a free trial?

It is possible to sign up for a seven-day one on the Paramount+ website.

Is it worth it?

We don't know the full scope of what the platform offers, but Paramount+ has been a good option in the US if you like a little bit of everything.
