According to sources, new owner Todd Boehly made the forward his top summer transfer target. After the final year of his contract at Manchester City, Sterling is keeping his options open to make a decision about his future. There's a transfer window in the premier league.

According to sources, the 27-year-old has already been impressed by Boehly's ambition after he took control of the club.
Instead of allowing him to leave for free in a year's time, City would prefer to get a fee for him this summer. The 19-year-old, who wants to test himself in another of Europe's top five leagues, is attracting interest from both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
According to sources, Sterling is aware that his next contract will be the most important of his career, and his reluctance to sign a new deal at the City of Manchester Stadium has centred on doubts about whether he is central to the future of the club.
When he was at City, he made a point of not keeping players who were unhappy. Gabriel Jesus, who has a year left on his contract, told club bosses he would like to play more often and is expected to leave to join the club.
It would be unlikely for City to stand in his way if he made the same plea.
If Jesus and Sterling leave this summer, it will not be a problem for him.
The Argentine forward, signed from River Plate in January, is set to be part of the first-team squad next season and will not be sent out on loan.
