  • A bipartisan commission was blocked by Republicans.

  • It was a bad decision for Republicans to not be on that committee.

  • The proposal of a bipartisan commission was denounced by Trump.

Donald Trump said it was a mistake for Republicans to not be more involved in the investigation.

Trump said in an interview that it was a bad decision not to have representation on the committee. It was foolish to make that decision.

The committee tries to "pretend that they're legit" but that is just a one-sided witch hunt according to Trump.

A bipartisan commission to investigate the Capitol riot was blocked by Senate Republicans in May 2021.

The investigations will happen with or without Republicans, and the GOP should be involved to make sure the investigations are fair, impartial and focused on the facts.

Kevin McCarthy came out against it after the Senate vote. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to negotiate in good faith on basic parameters, which led to McCarthy's opposition to the commission.

The Democrats agreed to almost all of the Republicans' requests, including that the panel members be split evenly between the two parties and that decisions on who to subpoena would be unanimous.

The idea of a bipartisan commission was rejected by Trump.

Since rejecting the bipartisan commission, McCarthy has denounced the select committee as illegitimate and dismissed efforts to investigate the Capitol riot, even as leaked audio from the days after the attack revealed him promising to do that.

We can't just put this under the rug. He said that people needed to be held accountable for the incident. I'm committed to making that happen.

The House committee was called a disgrace by Trump during the interview.

We don't have a voice on this panel. The only Republican members are Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. The two Republicans who voted to impeach Trump are often criticized as RINOs, or Republicans in Name Only, by Trump's supporters.

When you look at it, it's terrible. Trump said that the Republicans should be ashamed of themselves because of the one-sided court.
