There is evidence that Donald Trump was involved in a failed attempt to overturn the election by appointing pro-Trump electors in states won by Joe Biden, according to Rep. Adam Schiff.

During an appearance on CNN's State of the Union, a member of the committee said that they would show evidence of the president's involvement.

Evidence will be shown about what his lawyers thought about the scheme. State officials who stood up and said they wouldn't go along with this plan will be shown.

According to an email obtained by The Washington Post and CNN, the Trump campaign in Georgia gave explicit instructions on how to position themselves to vote for Trump even though Biden won the popular vote.

In order to replace the legitimate electors with ones that would award electoral college votes to Trump, fake certificates were sent to the National Archives.

A lot of state and local elections officials were Republicans as well as Democrats, and that's why the system held.

"I don't want to get ahead of our hearing, so I don't know if the committee has evidence that Trump directed the plot."

June 21 and 23 are the dates for the next hearings.
