The black swan theory was created by Nassim Taleb. The theoretical black swan can be described as an outlier outside the realm of realistic expectations that has an extreme impact on history and makes experts invent explanations, but not until after the fact. Our limited knowledge of the world is exposed by these black swans. Curry is that black swan.
Curry became a black swan and vaulted himself into top 10 all time player discussions. If you look at the top 10 players in NBA history, you could argue that every one of them was destined to be in that discussion. At the end of his second season, Larry Bird referred to Jordan as God.
Kobe Bryant was one of the pioneers of the preps-to-pros program. He was similar to Jordan, who was expected to be great. NBA players were selected first in their drafts. The minimum of their career to-do lists was the Hall of Fame, which was the leading franchise to NBA titles. Oscar Robertson, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer, has a trophy named in his honor.
Teams were unsure how he would fare transitioning to point guard because he was too small to play shooting guard. He had four years.

Curry is the smallest of the greats. If you divide NBA 75 legends by size, Curry is in a tier of his own. There is a bigger gap between Curry's accomplishments and those of other players than there is between the two superstars.
We might see an undersized guard come along to take advantage of modern spacing and break the 3-point records. Curry is the first below- the-rim guard to be the anchor of a dynasty.

The first title was the beginning of Curry's career. His fourth title is a monument to his accomplishments and probably means more than any title they've won. It is possible that he is the first black swan to surprise so many people. Currys shooting changed the paradigm for better or worse. He has been duplicated many times but never duplicated again. Golden State is considered to be the favorite for the title in three years. Curry is a top 10 all-time player if he wins a fifth ring.
