A group of Texas Republicans who represent conservatives in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer community were denied the ability to set up a booth at the Texas Republican Party Convention.

The Log Cabin Republicans of Fort Worth, a chapter of the national Log Cabin Republicans organization, said they were not allowed to set up a booth at the convention, which took place in Houston over the weekend.

The president of the Log Cabin Republicans called the decision narrow- minded.

"It's clear that inclusion wins, which makes the Texas Republican Party leadership's decision to exclude the Texas Log Cabin Republicans from their convention not just narrow- minded, but politically short-sighted," President Charles Moran said.

The Texas Tribune reported that the Texas GOP discussed policies that would push the party further to the right.

The chair of the state Republican Party has the final say on whether or not to accept or deny applications for a booth.

The decision was made based on the rule on booth approval, according to Rinaldi. I don't think it's appropriate given the current state of our nation.

"Ban Gender Modification of Children" and "Stop Sexualizing Texas Kids" were two of the legislative priorities.

The president of the Log Cabin Republicans of Fort Worth was annoyed that he was lumped in with people who supported allowing children to use puberty blockers. He said it's not identity politics to support gay marriage.

Baldwin said that he was bothered by the fact that the group was being lumped in just because they identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer. It's something to do with lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer people and not so much with our state identity politics or being against the party platform.

Donald Trump Jr. criticized the Texas Republican Party's decision.

Instead of canceling a group of gay conservatives who are standing in the beach with us, the Texas GOP should focus its energy on fighting back against the radicals.
